What we collect, and why

Gloaming Press is a one-person independent press in Illinois, USA. We collect only what we need to make and deliver your book, and we don't sell anyone's information.

When you order

Checkout is handled by Stripe. We receive your name, email address, phone number, shipping address and what you bought. Your card details go straight to Stripe and are never seen or stored by us.

When you join the list

If you ask to hear about the next title, we keep your email address for that purpose only. Ask us to remove it at any time.

When you browse

The site uses the Meta Pixel, which sets cookies so we can tell whether our Facebook and Instagram ads lead to visits and orders. Our host, Cloudflare, keeps standard technical logs to run and protect the site. You can block these cookies in your browser settings and manage ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram account.

Who we share it with

• Stripe, to take payment.
• Bookvault (Printondemand-worldwide Ltd, England), to print and ship your order. Your name, address, email and phone go to them and their carriers, which means your order details are sent to the United Kingdom.
• Cloudflare, which hosts the site and stores order records.
• Meta, through the Pixel, to measure advertising.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require. List signups are kept until you unsubscribe.

Write to us to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you. The site isn't intended for children under 13.
